Math-

Adding-we can either us a number line to count up or we put the larger number in our head and count up-  Some of you may use the Touchmath points too!

Subtracting-we can either use a number line to count backwards or we can put the smaller number in our head and count up to the larger number

Multiplication-use your TouchMath Patterns

Telling Time- Practice saying our cheer,  “Little hand, little hand count by ones, Big hand, big hand count by fives.”   

o Talk about time at home or in the car- where do you see clocks both digital and analogue?   

o Practice telling time and making the correct time on the little Judy Clocks that I will be sending home.   

 

 

Money- practice recognizing your coins-  

Mrs. Martin teaches money by counting by fives (except for the penny we count by ones)

 

NICKEL- HAS 1 HAT ON IT- HE IS WORTH 5 CENTS

 

DIME- HAS 2 HATS ON IT- EACH HAT IS WORTH 5 CENTS- SO THE DIME IS WORTH 10 CENTS

 

QUARTER- HAS 5 HATS ON IT- EACH HAT IS WORTH 5 CENTS- SO THE QUARTER IS WORTH 25 CENTS
